Our students who are living in Moscow right now in documentary ‘Checkpoint Rusland’

In the new documentary of Jan Balliauw, Checkpoint Rusland, four of our students, Charlotte, Hanne, Yaël en Thijs, give their views on the current situation. As true region specialist and Erasmus students in Moscow they have first-hand experience what life is like in Russia. In this clip they talk about how Russians students relate to the situation in Russia and what they feel is the root of the tensions between Russia and the West.
As they put it the root of this tension is the fact that both sides do not understand one another. In this way they focus on the importance of curing the ignorance that is present on both sides and thus build a bridge between the West and Russia.
The documentary airs tonight at 21:10 on Canvas and focusses on the developments within Russia during the past five years surrounding the political regime and socio-economic situation as well as the rising tensions with the West.
